Socks for Dummies

Most everyone that comes in the shop knows the secret... Nancy doesn't knit. Shhh, don't tell. I spin and weave, but I don't knit. Well, except for socks. I love hand knitted socks, and with all the gorgeous sock yarns, resistance is futile.

Processing Fiber

We will learn to use a Wool Picker to prepare your clean fleece, Hand cards and Drum Carder to card it and if you are interested, blending on the drum carder for color or texture.

Weaving for Kids

Beginning/Intermediate Weaving

You've waited and waited and it's finally here, Jo Anne's weaving class is ready to begin!!  

This will be a comprehensive class, Jo Anne was my weaving teacher and I can promise you that you will leave this class with an in depth knowledge of weaving, drafting and problem solving.  

The first class will deal with choosing yarns and planning your project and each class will build on the previous one until your project is completed.

Beginning Weaving

We will begin in the morning by figuring and winding a warp out of handpainted mohair boucle lace weight yarn, putting the warp on the loom and then weaving off a gorgeous lacy scarf that you can wear home at the end of the day!

• Time: Every Thursday at 9:30 am til 6 or so  
• Price: $75 includes use of equipment, Nancy's time and the yarn, a 500 yd hank of handpainted mohair boucle by Leanna Witt at Blue Ridge Yarns, in your choice of colorways
